LIFE HACKS (DIY)

Hello People! How was the week? Hope it was as peaceful as mine!
Today, we’re gonna be sharing some LIFE HACKS.
Life hacks are just basically little ways to make our lives easier. They are simply ideas that make living a little less difficult. So, the Youth Konnect crew has taken time to curl 10 life hacks that would most definitely help you one way or the other. We’ll talk about five this week and complete it next week.
Do not hesitate to drop your comments as we always love to read them.
Have a great read, learn one or two things and please share with someone you love.

Life hack #1
This one is for heavy sleepers. You know those people that set alarms but the alarms wake everyone else but themselves! I once lived with someone like that and ended up being her alarm!
So if you phone alarm doesn’t seem to wake you up simply put the phone in a glass cup and keep it close to you. The glass cup amplifies the sound of the alarm and should definitely wake you up.

Life Hack #2
Do you lend people your stuffs and end up forgetting who you gave what to? This one is funny! Take pictures of friends holding the items you lent them so you’ll remember down the road. You can like to delete the picture when the person returns it o! Unless of course you want to keep it as a proof of ‘famzing’ when/if the person becomes a celeb in future. Lol. But with the way the economy is generally, i doubt if anyone is going to forget who they borrowed something, mostly if its money.

Life Hack #3
Some of us always run out of space in our wardrobes or drawers. This one is for us. Stack your folded clothes in an upright position to save space.

Life Hack #4
This one is for people who do not eat so much, definitely not for one of my friends like that. If you don’t finish cooking a pack of spaghetti, you can keep the remaining uncooked spaghetti inside an empty Pringles container.

Life Hack #5
Who hates making pancakes just because of the mess we make when we make it??? Well say a big hello to a ‘messyless ‘ pancake-making life. Hehe . simply pour in pancake batter into an old ketchup plastic bottle and make your delicious pancakes. If the batter remains, just throw it into the fridge and use it another day. Ready-made pancake batter hehe.

We continue next week with the remaining five hacks. See ya

My Friend's Wife

A friend of mine recently found out that the wife of his close pal is cheating on him. There is no doubt about this because he caught her red-handed.

He does not want to meddle in their affairs but he has this sense of guilt not having told him what he discovered about his wife. If they weren't close, he wouldn't be bothered at all. He is also worried about the negative consequences it will have on their marriage if he gets wind of it.

If he keeps mute, what chances are there that she will stop cheating on her husband?

And who knows, he may eventually find out himself in the long run...and if he does, he will be very mad at me that I hid it away from him all these while.

What do you suggest please? I will appreciate responses from matured members here.

HOT FACTS ABOUT WOMEN

                                            HARD FACTS ABOUT WOMEN

1. Women never have anything to wear. Don't question the racks of clothes in the closet, you just don't understand!

2. Women do NOT want an honest opinion to the question, 'How do I look?'Am sure you are definitely not ready for the repercussions of your honest opinion.

3. If a man goes on a seven day trip, he'll pack five days worth of clothes and will wear some things twice; if a woman goes on a five day trip, she'll pack 21 outfits because she doesn't know what she'll feel like wearing each day.

4. Women can't keep secrets. They eat away at them from inside. and they don't view it as being untrustworthy, providing they only tell two or three people.

5. The word "woman" is believed to have derived from the middle English term "wyfman" broken down simply as the wife(wyf) of man.

6. 70% of women would rather have chocolate than sex.lol

7. The most embarrassing thing for a woman is to find another woman wearing the same dress at a formal event.(Hmmm).

8.In almost every country worldwide, the life expectancy for women is higher than for men. (Not funny at all)

9.When a woman dresses up to go out, she puts on a blouse first, pants come second. Men work it vice versa.

10.Women spend 7-10years of their life-time looking at the mirror. Men spend only 2 years doing same.

Okay! Here are two bonuses off  the top.lol

*When you tell a woman the truth, she thinks you are lying. When you you are lying, she thinks you are telling the truth.

*Men, You can never win an argument against a woman,i repeat, you can never ever ever win. You'll hurt her feelings When(if) it seems you are winning.

Rounds Peg in a Round Hole

ROUND PEG IN A ROUND HOLE.....
Is it possible to get the best out of wherever you are? How easy is achieving a goal? How do I know how close I am to getting to the top?  All these are typical questions that run through every purposeful person's mind. There's good news though. It is possible to actually be where you want to be. I'm sharing my ideas on how to fit into what you really want to do.

   1. HAVE A DREAM THAT MAKES YOU SLEEP LESS: A popular speaker once said, when you have no dreams for your life sleep is always interesting. By this point I mean you should have a dream that makes you want to sleep less and work more.

  2. READ, JUST KEEP READING: gone are the days when the saying, if you want to hide something from a black man put it in a book was true. In this era, if you don't read you die. Not physically though but once the mind dies then what is left.

  3. BRING DOWN THAT PRIDE: A man cannot be an island, like wise a try cannot make a forest. Don't be too proud as not to ask people when you are ignorant. A person that asks questions never misses his way.

  4. WHAT ARE YOU SCARED OF?: Don't be scared of taking a bold step. Break the box of limitations. If you fail, try again. It doesn’t matter how many times you fall, but how many times you were able to get up. You and only you can do that.

   5. BELIEVE IN YOURSELF:  That's the greatest gift you can give yourself. Even if nobody believe in you, in fact, many people wont believe in you, you just have to Be confident. Even if you have all the muscles and you don't have that Confidence in yourself, you can't win anything. Keep pushing keep trying.

We all know its tough out there, no doubt, but we all need a job so what do u do? Find the thing you were meant to do, work your ass off to get it, never stop believing, never quit. In other words don’t just feel special..... Be special.

Never underestimate the power of the supernatural. Always seek the aid of God who is above and who can help you be the ROUND PEG IN THE ROUND HOLE.

The 8020 Rule in a Relationship

The 8020 RULE

Have you ever heard of the 80:20 Rule? I though as much. This rule came into fore in one of my favorite movies “Why Did I Get Married” by Tyler Perry.
The 80:20 Rule says that you can only get 80% of what you want from your spouse in your relationship, but there is 20% that you don’t or will never get from that relationship, but you might find in another person. This means that a person can never give you 100% in a relationship, well except you are dating JESUS. lol.
However, for some people the ratio could be 60:40, 75:25, 90:10. It doesn’t matter really. The main thing is that you get more of what you wanted from your spouse, than what you don’t want. To make the rule clearer, let’s say a lady is dating a guy and she only gets 80% of what she really wants. eg He is romantic, can cook, buys gift for her, visit and calls her often bla bla bla. All these amount to the 80%. However, he doesn’t have a good sense of humour, which she would have loved he had. This will be the 20%.
The problem is that instead of being grateful for that 80% we have, we focus on the 20% we don’t have. The absence of the 20% usually becomes very visible when there is problem in the relationship. From the earlier example given, lets say the lady had an issue with her boyfriend, and in her office there is this colleague who has a very great sense of humour (20%), this could really get to the lady and make her compare the guy with her boyfriend and even in some cases cheat on her boyfriend forgetting the fact that the guy only has 20% and doesn’t have the 80%.
There is never a thing as a perfect relationship. There are always issues and disagreement, and at these times it could be tempting to look outside the relationship. Try to focus on the good in your spouses and the positive in your relationships, instead on focusing on the bad and the negative which are only the minority.
So ladies, guys, men and women before I drop my pen to continue my puff puff before it gets cold, permit me to say that it is better to fight and be grateful for that 80%, than to lose it because you were too attached to and chasing the 20% you don’t have.

My PPA Experience

I WROTE EXAM QUESTIONS ON THE WALL

Just like people say, “Wonders shall never end”… this simply means we would keep seeing wonders everyday of our life.
I am a serving corps member somewhere in the Southern region of Nigeria and I surely experience wonders every time, if not at my Place of Primary Assignment (PPA), it would be at my house on somewhere else.
One of the wonders I’ve been experiencing since I got here, came during the just concluded third terminal examination in my school. After I’ve set and submitted the exam questions for the two subjects I taught last term, no complain was made by the examination committee, but to my greatest surprise, on the examination day of one of the subjects, some of the questions I submitted were deliberately missing from the printed exam paper (yes deliberately!) because when I went to complain, I was told that they couldn’t print all the questions I submitted simply because the questions were more than what a single A4 paper could accommodate. WAIT oooooooo…Did you get the reason very well??? Okay, let me rephrase, all my exams questions were not printed (Questions 3, 4, 5 and 6 of the theory section were omitted), because the school (a private school) didn’t want to spend money to print an exam question on more than one A4 paper!
WHOOPS. Exams has already started, questions were not complete, the school said they can’t print the remaining questions, marking scheme has been drafted…Wetin I go do…Okay, I had two options, it’s either I forget about the missing questions, change marking scheme and award free marks or I find a means of getting the missing questions to the students to make the exam be in the way it was designed to be. So I chose the latter option and found a way of getting the remaining questions across to the students. Thank God I took the picture of the questions before I submitted, (digital world, we can snap anything ehn, lmao), if not, I wouldn’t have gotten the remaining questions as the exam committee couldn’t find the paper question I submitted myself for them to print (WHAT A COMMITTEE!!!).
Okay………….I quickly wrote the remaining questions on the hall wall, so at the end, the students had 2 sources of questions, the printed paper with them and the wall...LOL!!!! …and that was how the Exam was able to take place successful, even though I had to dictate the questions repeatedly for the students just to make sure they all get the questions.(forming serious corper, heheheheheheheh
WHAT A WONDER!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for reading!!!!

My Missing Jewel (Based on a true life story)

                        MY STOLEN JEWEL
(Based on a true life story)

Episode 1
Stop it!!! Stop it!!!!. Even as I screamed at him he continued to tear off my clothes. Let me take you to the very beginning. Jude and I met in my first class on campus. He was very quiet in class and I never even noticed him. As a freshman studying medicine, I had to be serious. No time for boys, and no time for play. All I had to do was read. My friendship with Jude started the day I was sick and missed a class. Loner that I was without friends, I meekly asked Jude the quiet boy in class for his note. Surprisingly Jude was kind. He gave me his note and even offered to copy it for me. I was delighted. Finally a friend.

Episode 2
We became friends after that. We exchanged numbers and started reading together. He was the perfect gentleman. Our friendship grew steadily and we got closer with each passing day. Jude always wanted to do the right things. Going to church was compulsory, we never missed classes and we always read. My mum was happy I was happy and things were going fine.
First semester results rolled in and we really had good scores. Jude and I celebrated by eating out. That was the life. And then it happened.
"Shade meet my friend Josh" I looked up and met the gaze of a light skinned muscular guy. His eyes were the color of melted chocolate and he belonged to the beard gang. His trousers fitted so nicely that I couldn't take my eyes off him. I quickly jumped up and offered my hand in greeting. "Hi, I'm shade, nice to meet you" he looked me over and replied the greeting with a hug. Jude just stood aside laughing at our reactions. "Josh is my friend he just transferred to our school from Liberia. He's really good and I want him to join our study group" I looked at Josh and thought how can this Prince of hotness not be in our study group. No dulling o. I quickly replied"he's welcome to join us na it's no big deal"

Episode 3
Josh joined us everyday to study. I began to dress better. Shorter skirts, tighter clothes, more makeup and even bought a new phone since Josh used an iPhone. I always waited with anticipation for anytime I get to see Josh. I was like a dog awaiting its master. I made a crazy picture. " Shade you've been looking great these days. I've always wanted to tell u how I feel about u" those were the best words I heard that day and they came from Josh.
" I'll be your girlfriend" I quickly replied. He looked at me surprisingly and smiled "this is even happening faster than I thought" he ran his hands down my face and gave me a kiss. That sealed the deal. I was overexcited and I never even remembered to tell Jude my best friend. He called me after a while and in his usual manner he was so understanding"I'm happy for you dear. Just be careful cos I know Josh is not your regular type of guy. I also noticed you've changed a lot and I don't even know who u are anymore. You've hidden yourself in all these indecent clothes and makeup." I looked confused as I listened to Jude. My outburst was immediate"who are u to tell me what to do. Just because we are friends gives you no right over me. I know you are jealous. Just leave me alone and get yourself a girl" having said that I stormed out of the room. Jude and I were good together. People liked our pictures on instagram and our videos on snapchat. I stopped reading with Jude because of his preaching. Results came out and I barely made the cut. Meanwhile Josh had exciting news for me. He got a house in town so we could now do all our reading there. I was really excited. I didn't have to read in d cold lecture theatres and in the library. His house was conducive enough. We joined resources together and furnished the house. I had to sell some clothes and even my phone. It was all for the greater good of having a good place to live with my boo.

Episode 4
I moved into the new place with Josh, amidst warnings from friends and the frowns from everyone I knew. I couldn't be stopped. Jude stopped talking to me since I always refused to listen to him because of his incessant preaching sessions. I lost my friend, my grades and every hope of ever graduating with honours. " Shade, I'm going to take a smoke outside, make some noodles before I return" I looked up to see Josh, the guy I gave up everything for talking to me. He started smoking as soon as we started living together. He also did hard drugs and drank like a fish. All my pocket money went to providing for him and feeding him. God forbid I complain, he wouldn't hesitate to beat me up. That was my situation. Love turned sour in less than a month. I quickly stood up to prepare his noodles before he returned. "At least he's not sleeping with me. That's my only consolation". I made his noodles and as he ate he had news for me. " Shade baby, I want us to invest in a business. It yields 10 times profit in a week" he explained how it worked, networking and all. Finally a way to make us rich. " we only need N150,000" I looked at him with my mouth opened. "How do we get that kind of money, I spent all I have contributing to the house rent. And u don't have money too. How will we afford it" he just smiled and came to sit beside me. " baby just call home and sell some clothes. We can do it. I'll do same too. Please shade" the soft look in his eyes and the touch of his fingers on my face made me melt and I just yielded as always. Operation sell all my clothes and lie to everyone to get the money. It took two weeks of going to hostels to sell my clothes and shoes. My parents also assisted me because of the mind blowing lies I told. Finally the money was complete. " Here is N200,000  baby. Let's start a new life" Josh was surprised. He hugged me and carried me round the house. " now we can make ourselves rich shade. I'll invest tomorrow morning baby" I slept happily because I knew we would be rich.

Episode 5
I woke up early to prepare  for the day and didn't even see Josh. He had packed all his things leaving only a note that read " shade thanks for being a fool" I stood surprised. I didn't want to believe Josh ran away with my money and left me stranded. I didn't even have one pair of shoes left. I heard knocking on the door and thinking it was Josh I quickly opened. It was the landlord asking me to move out because our time of grace had expired. I was confused. I thought we paid the rent because I gave Josh N50,000  to add to the money for rent. I couldn't even reply the landlord. The man just looked at me, shook his head and threw me out.
I looked at myself. On d street, dressed in one shirt I saw at the backyard. My hair was a mess I had no money and no life. Suddenly I remembered Jude. My first friend whom I refused to listen to. I quickly ran to his house. "Knock knock, anyone home?" I knocked on Jude's door. He opened it with sleepy surprised eyes. "Shade what are u doing here dressed like that? Where us Josh" I just started crying and narrated how Josh duped me and left me stranded. Jude just smiled and moved towards the door. " Shade you are very stupid. I warned you and you never listened. You were so in love now see what has happened to you" he locked the door and came over to where I sat crying. "Jude please forgive me and help Me I'm sorry" I carried helplessly. Jude just smiled and yanked my head up. He started tearing off my clothes. " stop it!!" I screamed. He continued to tear my shirt off, rendering slaps to my face as I shouted the more. " Jude please stop this". I was really confused. I didn't understand what was going on.  Before I knew it he was all over me. That was when I knew his plan.

Episode 6
I just lay there crying because fighting him was out of the question. He was out of control."filthy prostitute. You deserve this. After leaving me for Josh. I will show you what I'm made of today and when I'm done, my friends will also enjoy what you have to offer, since you are a very willing girl" with tears in my eyes, I watched as I lost my pride in a very shameful way to the one person I thought wouldn't  hurt me. I fainted even as 3 other guys came in to take their turn.
They took pictures of me and left me at a major road on campus. Good Samaritans took me to the health centre from where I was referred to a psychiatrist.
I couldn't take it anymore. I decided to write this story from my ward in a mental home. My parents disowned me for using them and for disappointing them. I'm now alone. A ward of the state. I'm writing to every young girl out there. Please be careful and trust no-one. Jude and Josh ruined my life. I wasn't wise enough. oh the nurse is here. It's time for my injections. And so my life ends.

Are we still the Leaders of Tomorrow

Are Youth still the leaders of tomorrow? Considering the fact that we have many leaders that have been in power still we were little and they are even still in power. A vivid example is our President, pls how old his he again?. Do you think we (youth) are still the leaders of tomorrow
